There is a gap between China's pharmaceutical glass bottles and international neutral glass standards

At the 10th annual meeting held in Frankfurt, Germany, the experts of medical glass bottles proposed the main chemical composition, chemical stability and physical performance technical indicators of 3.3-borosilicate glass and neutral glass. Among them, the chemical composition and physical and chemical properties of 3.3-borosilicate glass are basically the same as those of special hard materials and GG17 materials in China. The main difference is that the control range of thermal expansion coefficient of wire is different. The control range of thermal expansion coefficient of two kinds of glasses in China is not strictly specified. The performance difference between international neutral Glass Bottle and Chinese "neutral" glass is obvious. In the future, it is necessary to actively develop international neutral glass production, and the "neutral" glass that gradually limits the use of our original concept is becoming the consensus of the industry.

In China, low borosilicate Home Decor glassware is a so-called "neutral" glass that has been used for many years. Compared with international neutral glass, their chemical compositions are very different. China's "neutral" glass has low boron content, so the thermal expansion coefficient of the wire is large, and the water resistance of the particles cannot maintain the HGB1 level. This is because China's "neutral" glass material is more general, so it reflects that the water resistance of the inner surface is also very poor - the water resistance of the international neutral glass surface can ensure that it meets the requirements of ISO4802-HC1, while China's "neutral" glass is difficult to achieve. In the international standard ISO12775-1997 "Normal mass production of glass according to composition classification and test methods", packaging glass has been clearly divided into three types: international neutral glass, borosilicate glass and soda lime glass.

In international standards, soda lime glass has not been designated as medical glass. International neutral glass is the preferred glass for medical glass bottles recognized by the world. In the domestic pharmaceutical industry, it is also known as Class A amber glass. Bottle, 5.0 glass or Class A material, where 5.0 means its expansion coefficient is not greater than 5.0 × 10-6。 As the water resistance, acid resistance and alkali resistance of this glass are of a grade, it can be said that it has excellent chemical stability and thermal stability. As a medical glass bottle, it has unparalleled advantages in ensuring the quality of drugs.
